Refund Policy
Effective date: 8 July 2026
This Refund Policy forms part of our Terms of Service and applies to purchases of DriveSmart paid plans, operated by Software Ladders.
1. Free trial
Paid plans include a 7-day free trial. You will not be charged during the trial, and you can cancel any time before it ends at no cost.
2. Monthly subscription
- You can cancel your subscription at any time; it will not renew for the next period, and you keep access until the current period ends.
- If you were charged in error or experienced a technical problem that prevented you from using the Service, contact us within 7 days of the charge for a review and, where appropriate, a refund.
- Partial-month refunds for time already used are generally not provided.
3. One-time “until you pass” access
- You may request a full refund within 7 days of purchase, provided you have not earned a certificate or completed a graded exam attempt.
- After 7 days, or once you have used core paid features (unlimited exams, hazard perception, certificate), the payment is non-refundable.
- This does not affect your statutory consumer rights.
4. School & bulk plans
Refunds for School and bulk-enrolment plans are handled under the terms of your partnership agreement. Please contact our team to discuss.
5. How refunds are paid
Approved refunds are returned to your original payment method. For M-Pesa, refunds are typically processed within a few business days; card refunds may take up to 5–10 business days to appear, depending on your provider.
6. How to request a refund
Email hello@drivesmart.co.ke or message us on WhatsApp with:
- the email or phone number on your account,
- the date and amount of the payment, and
- a short note on the reason for your request.
We aim to respond within one business day.
